It's rare that someone other than the couple gets in touch with me to photograph a wedding. But in this case, Uzma and Louis's close friend Sarah practically planned their two-day celebration from start to finish. Their Nikkah (Islamic wedding ceremony) took place at the Islamic Center of Apex, transformed into an elegant hall to host their family and community. The following day was nearly derailed by the rare occurrence of heavy snow in NC, but everyone made the best of the weather. The day began with an action-packed getting ready in Sarah's home – a true family affair – leading up to an intimate outdoor reception packed full of special details. Despite the cold of winter, the warmth of family and friendship filled the air.
